Our Faith is 2,000 Years Old; Our Thinking is Not.
We’re a proud member of the United Church of Christ – a faith with a long history of recognizing and adapting to changing times.
- UCC was at the forefront of the anti-slavery movement and the Civil Rights movement.
- UCC was the first historically white denomination to ordain an African-American, the first to ordain a woman, and the first to ordain an openly gay man.
- UCC was the first denomination to affirm the right of same-gender couples to marry.
We believe in God’s continuing testament. This is why we are committed to hearing God’s ancient story anew in our lives and in the world today. We are a church where your mind is nourished as much as your soul, and where together, we seek to grow a just and peaceful world. Religion and science are not mutually exclusive, and your head and heart are both welcomed into our place of worship.
Open and Affirming
North Church works together to support our members, the community, and those seeking a place in God’s family with the understanding that each is unique. We embrace people of any race, creed, color, age, gender identity and gender expression, sexual orientation, economic status, marital status, physical, emotional, mental capacity and those in relationships recognized under God’s law.
We worship both in the sanctuary at Market Square as well as the chapel at our Parish House. Please check the calendar to confirm the location for the worship date you are looking for.
