Those who sing pray twice. ~ St. Augustine
The role of music at North Church is integral to the founding definitions of our Church. All are welcome through the church door, and all are equally welcome in the Choir Loft and as participants in worship sharing instrumental talents! The congregation is invited to learn and participate in the music that is so vital to our worship. We seek to identify the central expressive ideas that motivate our musicians, the soul of the music, and then work to support the sharing of that expression as best might fit the liturgical moment and musician.
The repertoire of our faithful choir has roots in the standard liturgical library of choral music, which also enjoys exploring rock, country, doo-wop, and contemporary Christian idioms.
Our 10 member bell choir celebrates the main holidays with solos, hymn arrangements, and musical accents that add an air of wonder and reverence to our services.
A youth ensembles of varying size create special music and dance offerings for worship. A chorus of Cherubs invariably delights us all with its sincerity and enthusiasm.
