Hello, beloved, and welcome to North Church!
This is a place where all are welcome: people of every background and belief, of every race, creed and culture, of every gender and sexual orientation, of every emotion, ability or stage on life’s journey - there is always a place for you here at North Church.
Here at North Church, we believe that all people are beloved by God, and that we are called to be love in turn. We stand in a long line of witnesses, full of seekers and skeptics, wonderers and wanderers, learners of love, hope, peace and faith. We believe that whether we are in the church, at the table, or in the streets, it is our call to extend a wide welcome, make space for the stranger, and care for one another.
Because we believe this to be true there are two things we lift up every Sunday in worship: at North Church you have no one to please, no task to perform, and nothing to prove. There is already a seat for you. And, we take a moment every week to pass the peace of Christ to each other. We remember and celebrate that within each of us the light and love of God is alive, and so if we can practice peace-sharing in the Sanctuary on Sunday, we can practice peace-making out in the world during the rest of the week.
If you are looking for peace: peace in your heart, your spirit, your mind, or peace in our streets, come and worship with us. If you are looking for hope, hope in our actions, hope in our future, hope in who we could still be, come and worship with us. If you are looking for a place to rest, to be comforted and challenged in equal measure, to be drawn closer to God and God’s people - who are all people - come and worship with us.
We won’t always get it right - we are learning, growing and evolving all the time. Our promise as a church is to continue to show up for love, justice, hope and peace. Our covenant is to be bearers of light, love and joy in the world. Our hope is that you will join us on the journey.
Love,
Jenn
